Adaptive
Adaptive snow sports certification. Requires Alpine Level I or Snowboard Level I prior to attending any Level I or Level II assessment. Focus on sit-ski, visual impairment, and cognitive disability instruction.
Certification Levels
Prerequisites
- Alpine Level 1 or Snowboard Level 1 certification (required prior to any Level 1 or Level 2 Adaptive assessment)
- PSIA-AASI NRM membership (register online or call the NRM region office at 406-581-6139)
Assessment Modules
- Assessed per the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Certification Standards: People Skills, Teaching Skills, and the adaptive module being assessed (Adaptive Alpine or Adaptive Snowboard pathway).
- Note: all candidates receive adaptive alpine scorecards regardless of being on snowboard or alpine skis until adaptive snowboard-specific forms are finalized.
Professional Knowledge Exam
The correct online professional knowledge exam module must be completed a minimum of 72 hours prior to the on-snow assessment (expect it to take a couple of hours).
